Peak came in a two-year burst

Sandgren’s only quarterfinals were both in 2018 and 2020, and his only other deep runs were a 2019 Wimbledon R16 and a 2019 US Open R32. Across 17 Grand Slam tournaments, those four results stand out against 13 exits at R64 or earlier.

Australian Open was his best major by far
