Two clear peaks, both in 1988 and 1990

Youl’s best Grand Slam results were two R16 runs: Wimbledon in 1988 at age 22 and the Australian Open in 1990 at age 24. Those are his only results better than R32 across 32 tournaments.

Australian Open was his most productive major

His Grand Slam span ran from 1982 to 1994, yet his final four appearances all ended at R128: 1991 Australian Open, 1992 US Open, 1993 Australian Open and Wimbledon, and 1994 Wimbledon. That late sequence contrasts sharply with his earlier deeper runs.
