Three quarterfinal runs define the peak

Krishnan’s best Grand Slam result was the quarterfinal, reached three times: at the 1981 US Open, 1986 Wimbledon, and 1987 US Open. Those are the only results in his table above the round of 32.

His strongest stretch came in the mid-1980s

From 1984 through 1987, he produced four straight seasons with at least one round-of-32-or-better result, including two quarterfinals and a round of 32 at the 1986 US Open. That four-year span is the clearest concentration of his top-level results.

He was most effective at the US Open

The US Open appears 11 times in his results and includes both of his quarterfinals there, plus a round of 32 in 1986 and multiple round-of-64 finishes. By contrast, his French Open results never went beyond the round of 32.

Australian Open results were his most uneven

Across eight Australian Open appearances, he ranged from a round of 64 in 1978 and 1990-91 to a round of 32 in 1983, 1984, 1987, 1988, and 1989. That spread shows a wider performance band there than at Wimbledon or the French Open.

He stayed competitive deep into his career

His final two recorded Grand Slam seasons were 1990 and 1991, when he was 28-30 years old and still reached the round of 64 or better in three of four appearances. Even at age 30, he was still appearing in Grand Slam main draws.
