Peak came at 22 with a French Open final

Proisy’s best Grand Slam result was the 1972 French Open final at age 22. That same season also included a Wimbledon and US Open run to the round of 64, making 1972 his strongest Slam year by far.

French Open was his clear center of gravity

He played the French Open 13 times and reached his deepest results there: one final, one quarterfinal, one round of 32, five round-of-64 finishes, and five round-of-128 exits. No other Slam produced anything beyond a semifinal.

His only semifinal came in Australia in 1973

Beyond the French Open final, Proisy’s other standout result was the 1973 Australian Open semifinal at age 23. That is his only semifinalist showing across 29 Grand Slam tournaments.

Late-career decline was steep after age 27

From age 27 onward, every listed Slam result was a first- or second-round exit: four round-of-64 finishes and two round-of-128 finishes. His last four appearances, from 1978 to 1981, were all at the French Open and never went past the round of 64.

His Slam record was narrowly above .500 across 60 matches

Across 29 tournaments and 60 matches, Proisy finished 31-29, a 52% win rate. That balance reflects a career with several deep runs, but also many early exits, especially in the later years.
