Only one second-week run in 35 Slam appearances

Massú’s best Grand Slam result was a single R16 finish, and it came at the 2005 US Open at age 25. Across 35 tournaments and 58 matches, he never advanced beyond the fourth round.

2005 was his peak season by far

In 2005 he produced his best overall Slam year: R16 at the US Open, R64 at Wimbledon, R128 at the French Open, and R64 at the Australian Open. That was his only season with a round of 16 result and his strongest four-event spread.

His best surface was clearly the US Open hard courts

All four of his deepest runs came at the US Open: R16 in 2005, R32 in 2003 and 2002, R64 in 2004 and 2001, and R128 in 2007 and 2009. No other Slam produced a result better than R32.

French Open was his most productive major overall

He reached at least R64 in five French Opens: 2000, 2003, 2004, 2006, and 2007, including R32 in 2004 and 2006 and R64 in 2000, 2003, and 2007. That is his most consistent major by repeated mid-round progress.

Late-career decline was abrupt after age 26

From age 20 through 26, he reached at least R64 in multiple Slams each year, including his peak at 25. From age 27 onward, every Slam result was R128 except a single R64 at the 2009 French Open.
