French Open was his clear peak

His best Grand Slam result was a quarterfinal at the French Open in 1985, and that tournament also produced three of his five deepest runs: Q in 1985, R16 in 1986 and 1987, and R16 again in 1990.

He was strongest on clay-heavy Paris, not across all majors

Across 19 Slam appearances, his best results came at one event, while his other notable finishes were limited to the US Open and a single Wimbledon third-round-equivalent showing. The data shows no Australian Open result better than R32.

His best stretch came between ages 20 and 25

From age 20 through 25, he produced all of his top-end results: the 1985 quarterfinal, two French Open R16s, and his best US Open run to R32 in 1989. After turning 26, his results were mostly R64 or R128.

Performance declined sharply after 1990

In 1990 he reached the French Open R16 and the US Open R64, but every Slam result after that was worse: R64, R64, R128, and R32 across 1991-1992. That marks a clear drop from his earlier peak years.

He was a consistent main-draw presence, but rarely advanced far

He played 19 Grand Slam tournaments and 48 matches, finishing with a 29-19 record. Even so, his results were concentrated in early exits: five R32s, three R16s, one quarterfinal, and no semifinal or final appearances.
