Career peak came at Wimbledon in 1989

Golarsa’s only quarterfinal result is the standout of her Grand Slam record, and it came at Wimbledon in 1989 at age 21. Her next-best finishes were six Round-of-32 results, so the quarterfinal was clearly her lone deep run.

Wimbledon was her strongest major overall

Across Wimbledon she reached at least the Round of 64 in six different years and produced her best result there. Her Wimbledon results also include the quarterfinal, plus Round-of-32 finishes in 1994 and 1999, making it her most productive Slam.

Her best stretch was 1987-1989

In her first three Grand Slam seasons, she posted her strongest results: R32 at the 1987 US Open, R64 at Wimbledon in 1987 and 1988, and then the 1989 Wimbledon quarterfinal. After 1989, she never advanced beyond the Round of 32 again.

Late-career results were mostly first-round exits

From 1990 through 1999, she reached the Round of 128 in 16 of 31 recorded appearances. The only exceptions were a few deeper runs: R64 at Wimbledon and the French Open in 1997, R32 at the US Open in 1998, and R32 at Wimbledon in 1999.

Her Grand Slam schedule was uneven, with a full four-Slam year only in some seasons

She played all four majors in 1989, 1994, 1997, 1998, and 1999, but only two Slams in 1991, 1992, 1995, and 1996. That uneven participation helps explain why her 39 tournaments produced 61 matches rather than a larger total.
