Peak run came at Roland Garros in 2008

Chardy’s only quarterfinal appearance is the standout result in his Grand Slam record, and it came at the 2008 French Open at age 21. His next-best finishes were four round-of-16 runs, so that quarterfinal sits clearly above the rest of his résumé.

Best stretch was 2013-2016

From 2013 through 2016, he reached at least the third round in every season and produced his strongest cluster of results: a quarterfinal in 2013, round of 16s in 2014 and 2015, and a round of 32 plus three round-of-64 finishes in 2016. That four-year span contains most of his deeper runs.

Late-career results were mostly first-week exits

In his final five listed seasons, 2017-2023, he reached the round of 64 or better only six times across 17 appearances. The rest were round-of-128 exits, including all four majors in 2020 and three of four in 2021.

Australian Open was his weakest major by depth

Across the Australian Open entries, his best result was only the quarterfinal in 2013, but he also had four round-of-128 exits and never matched the consistency he showed at Wimbledon or the US Open. By contrast, he reached the round of 16 at Wimbledon and the US Open.

Career totals sit almost exactly at break-even

Over 56 tournaments and 110 matches, Chardy finished 54-56, a 49% win rate. That near-even record is unusual for a player with one quarterfinal and four round-of-16 finishes, because the deeper runs were offset by many early exits.
