US Open was his only Slam in every listed season

Palmer’s Grand Slam record is built almost entirely around the US Open: he appeared there in all eight listed seasons, from 1988 through 1996, while his other Slam entries are limited to Wimbledon, French Open, and Australian Open in selected years.

His peak came in 1995 with a lone Round of 16

Among 18 Slam tournaments, his best result was one R16, achieved at the 1995 US Open at age 24. That was also his only finish beyond the Round of 32, making it the clear high point of the record.

1994 was his broadest Slam season, but not his best

He entered four majors in 1994, the only year he played all four. Despite that full schedule, his results were only R128 at the US Open and Wimbledon, plus R64 at the French Open and Australian Open.

His early breakthrough came before age 20

Palmer reached the Round of 64 at the 1988 and 1989 US Opens, at ages 17 and 18. Those were his first two Slam appearances and his best results until he matched R64 again in 1992 and 1993.

Most of his Slam results clustered at the Round of 64

Ten of his 18 Slam tournaments ended in R64, far more than any other finish listed. The remaining results were one R16, one R32, four R128s, and one R128-equivalent French Open debut in 1996.
