Career peak came in the early Open Era

Chanfreau’s best Grand Slam results were both quarterfinal runs: the 1968 French Open at age 23 and the 1972 Australian Open at age 26. Those are her only results beyond the round of 16.

French Open was her strongest major overall

Across 11 French Open appearances, she reached the quarterfinals once, the round of 16 twice, and the round of 32 three times. Her French Open record also includes only two first-round exits, both late in her career.

Her deepest runs clustered before age 28

All four of her best finishes—two quarterfinals and two round-of-16 results—came between ages 21 and 27. After turning 29, she never advanced beyond the round of 64 in any Grand Slam.

Late-career decline was steep and sustained

From 1974 through 1982, every listed result was round of 64 or worse except one round-of-32 at the 1976 French Open. The final two entries, both at the French Open in 1981 and 1982, ended in the round of 128.

Open Era results were far more productive than Amateur Era results

Her Amateur Era Grand Slam record contains just two events: one quarterfinal and one round-of-16. In the Open Era, she played 36 of her 38 tournaments and produced all of her other deep runs, including both quarterfinals.
