Peak came at the 1982 Australian Open quarterfinal

Pfaff’s only quarterfinal run is the clear high point of her Grand Slam record, and it came at age 21 at the 1982 Australian Open. Her next-best results were only two Round-of-16 finishes, so the quarterfinal stands alone.

Her best stretch was concentrated in 1981-1983

All three of her deepest runs happened early: R32 at the 1981 Australian Open and French Open, the 1982 quarterfinal, and R16 at both the 1983 Australian Open and Wimbledon. After 1983, she never advanced beyond the Round of 32 again.

Australian Open was her strongest major by far

Across nine Australian Open appearances, she produced her best result there and also added an R16 in 1983 plus two R32 finishes in 1981 and 1987. By contrast, her French Open and Wimbledon peaks were only R16 and her US Open peak was R64.

She was most competitive in her early twenties

At ages 20 to 23, she reached at least the Round of 32 in six of eight Slam starts, including the quarterfinal at 21 and two R16s at 22. From age 24 onward, her results were mostly R64 or R128.

Her career ended with a brief 1991 two-event finish

Pfaff’s Grand Slam career ran from 1981 to 1991, but her final season contained only two results: R64 at the Australian Open and R128 at the US Open. Those were her only appearances listed for 1991.
