Her only second-week run came at age 20

Elise Burgin’s best Grand Slam result was a single R16, reached at the 1982 US Open when she was 20. Every other listed Slam result stopped earlier, with six R32 finishes and 18 R64 finishes.

She was most productive in 1985-1987

Across those three seasons she repeatedly reached the same range: four Slams in 1985 with two R32s, three Slams in 1986 with two R32s, and four Slams in 1987 with one R32 and three R64s. That stretch contains her strongest cluster of results.

Her career ended with a sharp late decline

After reaching R32 at Wimbledon in 1987 and R64 at the US Open that year, her next six Slam appearances were all R64 or worse. The final two entries in 1991 were both R128, at ages 28 and 29.

She was unusually consistent at the majors

Over 33 tournaments and 66 matches, her record was exactly 33-33, a 50% win rate. The results table shows no title runs or deep late-stage peaks beyond that lone R16.

Her Slam schedule was uneven, with a late-career four-event stretch

She played only one Slam in 1980, 1981, and 1982, then two in 1983 and three in 1984. From 1985 through 1990 she appeared at four Slams in each season before dropping to two in 1991.
