Best run came at Wimbledon in 1986

Edwards’ only Grand Slam round of 16 appearance was at Wimbledon in 1986, when he was 29. Across 24 tournaments and 44 matches, that stands out as his deepest run by two rounds.

His results peaked in the middle of the career, then faded

From 1980 to 1984 he reached the R64 or better in every listed tournament, including three R32 finishes in 1984 and 1988. After the 1986 Wimbledon R16, his last three appearances were all R64 or R32, with no further improvement.

Wimbledon was his most productive major

Wimbledon produced his best result and also three additional R64 finishes plus two R128 exits. That gives him more Wimbledon appearances than any other Slam in the table, and his only R16 came there.

Australian Open was his strongest early Slam

He opened with R64 at the Australian Open in 1980 and 1981, then improved to R32 in 1984 and again in 1988. No other Slam shows as many top-two-round finishes in the data.

He never advanced beyond the first two rounds at Roland Garros or the US Open

At the French Open his results were R128, R128, and R64; at the US Open they were R64, R128, R64, and R32. Neither event produced a run past the round of 32.
