Wimbledon was his peak Slam

His only Grand Slam title came at Wimbledon in 1996, and it was part of a run of strong grass-court results: semifinal in 1998, quarterfinal in 2002, and fourth round in 1997. Across 40 Slam tournaments, Wimbledon clearly produced his highest ceiling.

He reached at least one quarterfinal in four straight seasons

From 1996 through 1999, he posted a quarterfinal or better every year: Wimbledon champion in 1996, US Open quarterfinal in 1997, Wimbledon semifinal in 1998, and US Open quarterfinal in 1999. That four-year stretch is the most sustained peak in the data.

His best years clustered in his mid-20s

All three semifinal appearances came at ages 20, 21, and 26, while his lone title came at 24. The strongest Slam results are concentrated between 1992 and 1998, with no semifinal-level finish after age 26.

He was especially effective at the US Open early in his career

He reached the US Open quarterfinals three times, in 1997, 1999, and 2000, and also made the round of 16 in 1992, 1993, and 1994. That gives him six US Open runs to at least the fourth round or better.

His late-career results fell sharply after 2000

In 2000 he still reached the US Open quarterfinal and the French Open round of 32, but his final two Slam appearances were much weaker: US Open round of 128 in 2002 and Australian Open round of 64 in 2003. The decline is clear in the last two entries.
