Two career peaks, both only to the round of 32

Starace’s best Grand Slam results were two R32 finishes, at the 2004 French Open and the 2007 French Open. Those are his only results beyond the round of 64 across 33 tournaments.

Clay produced his only deeper runs

Both R32 results came at Roland Garros, and his other R64 finishes were split between the French Open and Wimbledon. Across the data, his strongest showings are concentrated on clay rather than the other majors.

2011 was his most productive Slam season

He reached the US Open round of 64 in 2011, plus the round of 128 at the Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon. That four-tournament season is his only year with a top-64 result and three additional main-draw appearances.

His career ended with a brief return in 2014

After playing all four majors in 2012, Starace did not appear in the Grand Slam results again until the 2014 French Open. That lone 2014 entry was a first-round exit at age 32.

He finished in the round of 128 in 26 of 33 tournaments, compared with five R64 results and two R32 results. The overall record was 9-33, which the table lists as a 21% win rate.
