Peak years split cleanly across eras

Richey’s Grand Slam peak is divided between eras: in the Amateur Era she has 1 title, 3 finals and 3 semifinals, while in the Open Era she has 1 title, 1 final and 4 semifinals. That shows her deepest runs were more concentrated before 1968, but she remained a major contender afterward.

1966 was her busiest and most productive Slam season

She played all four majors in 1966 and reached the final at three of them: US Open, French Open and Australian Open. The only exception was Wimbledon, where she reached the quarterfinals, making 1966 her clearest across-the-board peak in the data.

Her only Grand Slam title came in 1968

Richey’s sole Open Era championship is the 1968 French Open, and it came at age 25. Across the rest of the record she never added another title, despite later reaching the 1969 US Open final and multiple semifinals.

Late-career results show a gradual decline after 1971

From 1971 through 1974 she still produced strong results, including a 1971 French Open semifinal, 1972 Wimbledon quarterfinal, and 1974 US Open quarterfinal. After that, her finishes dropped to R64 in 1975 and 1976, then R16 and R128 in 1977 and 1978.

US Open was her most frequent stage

Of her 34 Grand Slam tournaments, 15 were at the US Open, far more than any other major in the table. That event also contains her widest spread of results, from a 1960 first appearance at age 18 to a 1974 quarterfinal at age 32.
