Best run came at the 1994 Australian Open

Jonsson’s only Round of 16 appearance was at the 1994 Australian Open, when he was 23. That was also his best result overall, ahead of three Round of 32 finishes and four Round of 64 finishes.

1994 was his busiest and strongest Slam season

He played all four majors in 1994, the only year in the data where he reached every Slam. That season produced his top result plus two other wins into the third round or better: R64 at Roland Garros and R128 at Wimbledon and the US Open.

His results peaked early, then trended downward

From 1990 to 1995 he reached at least the Round of 64 five times, including the R32 at the 1990 Australian Open and the R32 at the 1992 French Open. After 1995, his last two Slam appearances were both first-round exits at the Australian Open.

Australian Open was his most productive major

Across seven Australian Open appearances, he produced his best Slam result, one R32, and one R64. By contrast, his Wimbledon and French Open records topped out at R64, and his US Open record never went beyond R128.

He was a frequent Slam entrant but rarely converted into wins

Jonsson entered 22 Grand Slam tournaments and played 35 matches, finishing 13-22 for a 37% win rate. That means he averaged fewer than two wins per event, despite appearing in majors across eight seasons from 1990 to 1997.
