Two Round-of-16 peaks, seven years apart

Pozzi’s best Grand Slam results were two R16 runs, at the 1994 US Open and Wimbledon 2000. Those were his only finishes beyond the third round, and they came seven years apart.

His strongest stretch came in 1998-2000

Across those three seasons he reached 12 Slam main draws and produced his only R32 finish in 1999, plus the two R16/R32 peaks in 2000 and 1999. That run stands out against his earlier and later years, which were mostly R64 or R128 exits.

Australian Open was his most productive major

He reached at least the R64 in six Australian Opens, including one R32 in 1999 and four straight R64-or-better results from 1988 to 1992. By contrast, his French Open record never went beyond the R32.

Late-career longevity without deep runs

After returning to Grand Slam play in 1998, Pozzi competed through age 36 in 2001. In those final four seasons he still made 16 Slam appearances, but none went past the R16 he had already reached in 2000.

Career profile: many starts, modest conversion

He played 40 Grand Slam tournaments and 65 matches, finishing 25-40 for a 38% win rate. That volume produced only three results better than R64, showing a long career built more on repeated entries than repeated deep runs.
