Peak run came in 2014-15

Makarova’s two semifinal results were back-to-back at the 2014 US Open and 2015 Australian Open, both at age 26. Those are her only results beyond the quarterfinal stage across 46 Grand Slam tournaments.

Australian Open was her strongest major

Late-career decline after age 28

From age 28 onward, her best Grand Slam result was the 2018 Wimbledon round of 16. In that span she also posted multiple early exits, including R128 at the 2016 US Open and the 2019 Australian Open.

Strongest stretch was 2013-2016

Across those four seasons she produced both semifinals, plus a quarterfinal at Wimbledon in 2014 and another quarterfinal at the US Open in 2013. That cluster accounts for her entire top-end Grand Slam output.
