Peak results came in 1989-1990

Faber’s two best seasons were back-to-back: she reached the round of 16 three times overall, with two of those coming in 1989 and 1990. Her strongest single-year showing was 1990, when she made the Australian Open round of 16 and also reached the Wimbledon and French Open round of 64.

Australian Open was her most productive major

Among her 19 Grand Slam appearances, the Australian Open produced her best mix of depth and consistency: R16 in 1989 and 1990, R32 in 1991, and only one first-round exit in 1992. No other Slam gave her multiple round-of-16 results.

She was most competitive at ages 17-19

Her best results clustered before age 20. At 17 she reached the Wimbledon round of 32 and the US Open round of 16 in 1989, and at 18 she repeated a US Open round of 16 plus an Australian Open round of 16 in 1990.

1991 marked a clear step down from her peak

After the 1990 Australian Open round of 16, her 1991 results were all earlier exits: R32 at the Australian Open, then R128 at the French Open, R64 at Wimbledon, and R64 at the US Open. That season contained no finish better than round of 32.

Her career ended with two straight first-round losses

The final two Grand Slam results in the data were both R128: the 1992 US Open and the 1993 French Open. Those closing results came after a 1992 season that still included a round of 64 at the French Open.
