French Open was his clear peak

1999 was his strongest season by far

His later years were a sharp decline from the 1990s peak

From 2000 to 2001, his best result was only the French Open round of 16 in 2000. In 2001 he fell to the round of 64 at the Australian Open and the round of 128 at both Wimbledon and the French Open.

He was far more effective on clay than at Wimbledon

Clay yielded his final, semifinal, and three quarterfinal-level runs, while Wimbledon never got beyond the round of 16. His Wimbledon record also includes multiple early exits, including round of 128 in 1996 and round of 128 in 2000.
